In 2012 I developed a Learning Management System for an Introductory to Programming course using Moodle. The course had a syllabus and calendar, 5 units, and a final evaluation. Each unit was comprised of a unit overview (explaining the layout for the unit, assignments, deadlines, etc) and contained a variety of lessons, videos, podcasts, readings, discussion forums, glossary assignments, programming assignments, extra credit opportunities, and quizzes/exams/tests.
The course itself isn’t complete and I could probably continue building and improving upon the course eternally, but this was a good start.
